Syntactica technology is a Web Service that can be embedded in a number of consumer and enterprise applications that process English language text including: search output, search indexing, and book indexing.
Syntactica can quickly digest archived information and provide the essential meaning, or sense, of the text. Likewise, the Syntactica technology can be integrated into Internet search engines to produce a relevant abstract of the text information in real-time.
In short, Syntactica can almost instantly compress massive amounts of electronic English text into meaningful short abstracts along with a reference index.
The Syntactica Web Service is being offered on an Open Source basis, whereby free source code has been published that makes the Syntactica Web Services easy to use. This code is published in various VB Add-In sites with extensive documentation to the Open Source technical community.
At the heart of the Syntactica is the intelligent dictionary or lexicon. This lexicon is a compilation of a meticulous word-by-word analysis of the Webster’s 3d New International Dictionary, unabridged. This compilation considers the many different meanings and contexts of each individual word in the lexicon, and assigns a set of values to each word. Then, when a document is processed by Syntactica, the value of each of the words in a given concept is considered, and accumulated, which creates a concept value. These values are then ranked according to relative importance, and returned as the summary of the document or URL.
