Syntactica is an abstracting technology owned by ZH Computer, Inc. iReader is a software application that uses Syntactica to create abstracts of Web pages.

• iReader application software is downloaded and installed on a user’s desktop as a browser helper. The download package includes a configuration utility that allows a user to customize certain aspects of iReader’s performance. The user can uninstall the software at any time by using the “Add or Remove Programs” capability in Microsoft Windows Control Panel. At no time during the download, installation, usage , or removal of iReader software is any personally identifiable information required or gathered.
• Syntactica’s abstracting technology resides on its web servers and accessed by iReader.
• Syntactica’s abstracting technology is accessible to software developers via API (application programmer interface) under the terms described below.

ZH Computer, Inc. (“ZH”) respects the privacy concerns of the users of its Web sites using or accessing its abstracting technologies. ZH provides this privacy statement to explain what information is gathered during a visit to the listed Web sites and how such information may be used.

Use of Information
No personally identifiable information, such as your name, address, or e-mail address, is automatically collected from your visit to the Web sites listed above. However, certain non-personal information is recorded by the standard operation of ZH Internet servers. Information such as the type of browser being used, its operating system, and your IP address is gathered in order to enhance your online experience. To help us monitor and plan the performance of our abstracting technologies, we also record the length (in characters) of information sent to our servers for abstraction, the length (in characters) of the abstract returned, and the amount of time required to generate the abstract. The actual content is not captured.

Syntactica’s Refer-a-friend Form
Syntactica.com provides a form that allows you to send an e-mail containing <NEED TO KNOW THE TEXT>. Our servers uses the e-mail addresses specified in the “your e-mail” and “your friend’s e-mail” fields only to generate and send e-mails at the user’s request; the addresses are not stored in our servers or used for any other purpose. <EMAIL LOGS?>

Use of Syntactica APIs
Syntactica technology is accessible via API calls. The abstracting technology resides only on the Syntactica Web servers and may be accessed only through the API calls published at www.syntactica.com/something. The technology is free for non-commercial use. In the event that an application generates significant traffic or server load, ZH reserves the right to contact the author(s) or publisher(s) of such applications and request an [audit, usage profile, something?] regarding its current and projected use of the Syntactica APIs.

Legal Disclaimer
ZH Computer may disclose user information in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing injury to or interference (either intentionally or unintentionally) with ZH Computer’s rights or property, other users of the Web site, or anyone else that could be harmed by such activities. ZH Computer  may also disclose user information when necessary to comply with a court order, legal process, or other legal proceeding.
